How To Make Continental Apple Cake Recipe?

Ingredients Of Continental Apple Cake

  • 50 gm flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 50 gm chilled diced butter
  • 150 gm castor sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml milk

  • For the topping:
  • 3 apples- peeled, cored & sliced
  • 2 Tbsp castor sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • How to Make Continental Apple Cake

    1. Sieve flour and baking powder together.
    2. Add the butter, sugar, eggs and milk and beat it, to form a smooth batter.
    3. Pour the batter in a cake tin. Arrange the apple slices on its top. Dust with sugar and cinnamon.
    4. Bake at 190 degrees centigrade until the cake turns golden in color. (30-35 minutes, until a knife inserted comes out clean)
    5. Cool it before serving.
    6. INSTRUCTIONS

      Mix flour, butter, egg yolks, and sugar. Knead with hands. Add lemon juice and grated rind. When well blended and smooth, chill for several hours.
      Roll dough 1/4 inch thick. Divide into two parts. Line an oblong tin with half the dough and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Fill with sliced apples, sugar, and raisins. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with the remaining dough. Brush top with slightly beaten egg white and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender.
      Dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream if desired.
